The company Carousel was founded in 2013, the idea behind Carousel was simple; to create a beautiful space in the form of an art cafe with cozy interiors, warm lights, freshly brewed coffee and happy people. A place where pretty home decor products would come to life.

Carousel had just partnered with its first retail outlet-partner , Qirq Station, to start selling their products. They were looking for an effective packaging solution that would be budget friendly, stand out and could quickly be brought into production.

Bean: Home Furnishing

This project’s brief was to work with the term resist. In the mood board/ story board that was created the objective was to stay as close to my personal struggle of resist as much as possible. The use of the beanstalk is my interpretation of resistance as a visual. It is about being the odd one out and trying to stay in the sphere yet not being a part of that.
The abstraction in the project allowed for me to illustrate my interpretation of how I saw myself.
Screen printing allowed for me to bring two passions of mine into one; textiles and illustration. while the abstraction in the word resist stumped me, it proved to inspire many creative ideas by the end.
Even now I hold this project close to my heart for it was able to show me that while my interest seemed poles apart initially there was in fact a way to make them two work in cohesion.
This project was also the first time I got to work with home furnishings which is a field I would like to delve further into.
