duration: 10 days

The company Carousel was founded in 2013, the idea behind Carousel was simple; to create a beautiful space in the form of an art cafe with cozy interiors, warm lights, freshly brewed coffee and happy people. A place where pretty home decor products would come to life.

Carousel had just partnered with its first retail outlet-partner , Qirq Station, to start selling their products. They were looking for an effective packaging solution that would be budget friendly, stand out and could quickly be brought into production.

The Yellow Dwelling: Summer Quest: The Kids Collection
Duration: 2 Months

The Yellow Dwelling’s journey began in 2017 with a search for quality home furnishings that are unique, tasteful yet affordable. The brand’s motto is to create happy homes where style and comfort meets their customers through sustainable and eco-friendly products as well as in their manufacturing practices.
For the Summer Collection 2021, we wanted to push the envelope of the current product range of the company. For this collection not only were new patterns developed but product categories as well. In terms of products teepee tents and shape cushions were introduced. A new embroidery technique called ARI work was also used for one of the cushion designs.
Summer Quest was a collection developed for kids who want to explore and seek adventures. Gender neutrality was a driving factor in it's evolution. No two colours were differentiated against but rather embraced.

The mood board started out with the two concepts of sea and sky. Motifs and patterns were developed from Japanese style cloud prints, to life like sketches of the types of vintage aircrafts and corals with seashells. Encouraging the need to explore found objects on the beach were used as inspiration. Interactive elements within the design such as an almost life like Life-bouy Ring cushion with a detachable string took the product from merely a decor item to something a child would find engaging.
