The company Carousel was founded in 2013, the idea behind Carousel was simple; to create a beautiful space in the form of an art cafe with cozy interiors, warm lights, freshly brewed coffee and happy people. A place where pretty home decor products would come to life.

Carousel had just partnered with its first retail outlet-partner , Qirq Station, to start selling their products. They were looking for an effective packaging solution that would be budget friendly, stand out and could quickly be brought into production.

The first book by author Mandy Menon tells a story of the Wancho tribe in Arunachal Pradesh; based on his real life experiences but set in a narrative tone through the book.
Bringing the author's voice and vision to fruition through illustration led to the cover of this very book.

We first started the process by understanding what were the focal elements that we wanted to highlight. The mood board hence created was addressing that discussion. This was followed by tentative iterations of the final layout for the front, spine and back cover of the paperback copy.

An attack at Ninu in 1875 left many of a British Survey team dead. The British totally isolated the Wanchos until India gained independence. Today these tribals are a proud, modern and vibrant society. This is their story; a historical story never told before. A tale of beautiful Arunachal Pradesh, Its evolution as a state; and of Its many tribes. Shawang is the fictitious protagonist. He and his wife, Chanyo, tell you of Wancho life and how they progressed. The people went from primitivity to prosperity; from animism to Christianity. Stories of Bamboo Flowering, Badminton, Assam Rifles, the Naga rebels and of the Stillwell Road to China add interest. These are all woven into this unique story. For better understanding, the story covers Assam’s incredible history in brief. This story is a historical treasure to understand the North East. It is invaluable for teachers, school students and historians. It will interest Army men and administrators, both in Arunachal and all over India.
