The company Carousel was founded in 2013, the idea behind Carousel was simple; to create a beautiful space in the form of an art cafe with cozy interiors, warm lights, freshly brewed coffee and happy people. A place where pretty home decor products would come to life.

Carousel had just partnered with its first retail outlet-partner , Qirq Station, to start selling their products. They were looking for an effective packaging solution that would be budget friendly, stand out and could quickly be brought into production.

The Yellow Dwelling: Dot & Line
Duration: 1 Month

The Yellow Dwelling’s journey began in 2017 with a search for quality home furnishings that are unique, tasteful yet affordable. The brand’s motto is to create a warm, happy and cheerful home in the most sustainable way. They believe in making ethical and eco-friendly products with simple refreshing designs and colours.

The Dot & Line Collection was loosely inspired by the African mud cloth patterns but more importantly the inspiration was derived from the uninhibited squiggles we did at the back of our notebooks, a time we were unabashedly ourselves. Keeping earthy tones and textural fabrics in mind for a sophisticated feel we were able to steer clear of the final products coming across as kitschy.

The collection attempted to cater to various customer needs and styles while still keeping in mind that each piece designed must work seamlessly with the next. A mix of boho, eclectic and mid century modern lines were created so as to find homes in any decor style the home owner chooses.

The products created included a range of throw cushions in various sizes, curtains, tableware and bedding options. The new products launched were quilted blankets.
Even when it came to the finishing details in the products we chose to work with blanket stitch and wooden bead tassels for a change from the rather overdone pom-poms.

The entire collection can be found on their website.
