CAROUSEL: packaging
duration: 10 days

The company Carousel was founded in 2013, the idea behind Carousel was simple; to create a beautiful space in the form of an art cafe with cozy interiors, warm lights, freshly brewed coffee and happy people. A place where pretty home decor products would come to life.

Carousel had just partnered with its first retail outlet-partner , Qirq Station, to start selling their products. They were looking for an effective packaging solution that would be budget friendly, stand out and could quickly be brought into production.

Summer Program: The Shirt Dress
Duration: 5 days

This garment was constructed during a summer workshop in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The duration for this project waIt was 5 days. It was a collaborative exercise among three countries namely, Slovenia, China and India.
The purpose of this project was to look at sustainable fashion. We chose to approach this topic by using textiles personal to us which also had cultural significance.
Taking inspiration from the textiles of these three countries the shirt dress and jacket were created.
The shirt dress is a reflection of a Kimono white the jacket has patch work of traditional Slovenian embroidery with pleats inspired from the pleats in a saree.
Since my familiarity lies in textiles I worked on the patch work jacket design along with additions like bright pink silk buttons to stand against the white shirt. The pleating was another element that was brought into the design to reflect the country I was representing.
By the end of the project The Shirt Dress had the opportunity to be represented as part of The University of Ljubljana Fashion Show that walked alongside works from the students of the university.
